Ok so there does seem to be a pattern!! filed 1/29, accepted 1/30, ordered transcripts 2/2 after waiting for any kind of update and just checked wmr & now have a dd of 2/7!! i believe the transcript thing is key!! you all have a great night i can finally rest lol
still waiting too. accepted 1/28 & got dd of 2/5 but nothing deposited yet. maybe on monday i will see something sbbt.
My return got accepted on the 26th, I spoke to Jackson hewitt today and was told it was completed on the 30th and that my funds should be disbursed soon, when I got off work tonight wmr couldn’t even find my info and neither could the 800 number. I am so frustrated.
Bossie- I too was scrolling through turbo tax and just came across this update. I filed Jan 25 still pending husband and I both filed 8863 Edu. Credit. Here is the copy from turbo tax webite:

All you 8863’rs (Education Credit) I got a direct deposit date for FEB 6th!!!Logged in to WMR a few minutes ago – got a direct deposit date – SO THEY HAVE DEFINITELY began processing and approving EDUCATION CREDITS!!!

Was able to print out both on Transcripts 2/1. (Yes, the Transcript Theory is True). Did much research on it.
Where’s My Refund (WMR) updated with a DD on 2/3 sometime after midnight.
DD Sched for 2/7.After lurking on this site and investigating others, I realized that this is the pattern if you just have a simple return. (No 8863, offsets, reviews, audits, or other delayed forms.)
So this should help others to stay strong and hang in there. This is the pattern.

I am a fellow 8863 er . I filed 1/10 accepted 1/24. Been lurking non-stop since 1/25. Please see the post I found on TT forums. A person posted an email they received from TT stating they are now processing 8863 forms. You will have to scroll down through many posts. It says she posted it 4 hours ago.

Book, USAA still pays 2 days early. My husband and I have two joint checking accounts which typically are paid 2 days before our paydates. Depending on the day that it falls on, it may be up to 3 days early, but always at least 1 day early.
Looking forward to our pay checks early on Monday [due Tuesday], and our IRS refund as well [2/6 DD]. Will post once I see it :)
My DD was 2/4 but my refund was on SBBT 2/1 and it posted to my Chase acct around 11pm on 2/1.

I pulled transcripts last night, not to see if this theory is right, but because I needed it for a loan. Anyway I got a deposit date tonight. 2 dependents, couple of w2’s, that’s it. No deductions or write offs, no home buyers credit. My tax return is almost identical as last year.

Wanted to give some of my input also, as I have been checking the IRS website daily for any updates regarding my DD. I filed through TurboTax on 1/29 , accepted 1/30 , checked the IRS refund status and it is shown as approved , DD is scheduled to be sent 2/7 !

heard that if you were not accepted you could go to a different tax prep company and file through them without 8863 and IF that one gets accepted the pending one with 8863 will be rejected. Once you receive your refund you can then file an amended return with the 8863 form for the balance of the refund due you. Hope that helps.
Haha, thanks! My husband is relieved that now I might stop hemming and hawing over our refund… I have to admit, I was a bit anxious considering we had somewhat of a complex return but am happy to know we’re in the clear.
Looks like the WMR site has also been updated for those of you night owls anxious to know if your refund was approved. ‘Night. :)

Hello, I efiled my taxes online with hrblock on jan 30th with the 8863 form. (because i wasn’t aware of the delay on the form obviously, or i would have filled regular, and amended later for my education portion.) Anyways, I received the email below from hrblock on feb 1st:
We’ve received your e-filed return. The IRS has notified us that it won’t be accepting returns that include certain forms until later. This delay is industry-wide, regardless of tax preparation method.
Your return contains 1 of these forms. Until the IRS is ready, your return is being stored on our secure servers.
The IRS will begin processing returns with this form in mid-February. To learn more, see the IRS Form 8863 press release.
Form 8863: Education Credits (American Opportunity and Lifetime Learning credits)

im sooo stressed!! got this msg also! Does anyone know what this might mean? how long does it take to get refund? What do they ask for? sooo many questions, sry. But i cant help it. :(

HRB in office on 19th was accepted 1/30 and in processing until today. Claimed EIC for my 2 sons. Just read more about it meaning being flagged for fraud. Trying to be hopeful and fight this sinking feeling in my stomach
Has anyone with 8863 gotten a DD or Refund yet? I saw where someone said by 11th and another said 15th..
I filed on the 21st with HRB the free online one. My friend filed with one she found online (not sure of the name) on the 24th. She has a DD date of the 5th and mine still says processing.
I can’t find anything either and I like your optimism. Just sucks that we have to wait to at least Monday to find out what this is. Who did you file with and did you claim the EIC?
Eboni, I hope it does come early!! But isn’t the IRS posting exact dd dates now instead of estimates like before? So should the dd be exact this year?

MommaJules it’s a strong possibility that we may have our refunds in our accounts on Monday morning. I usually get my refunds a few days earlier than the dd that the IRS gives me and I have been with the same credit union for 10 years. Let’s hope for early money for us!

try calling the 1800 number… my status stayed at the “accepted” stage and still is when i checked it this morning, and i always get the “you may have entered your information incorrectly” on the Wheres my Refund site and App….but when i called the 1800 number it gives me a DD date of 2-6-2013 .
i hear other people getting results by calling the IRS and speaking with a rep… but beware that you may get that unfriendly rep hahaHopefully we all get them soon! She will be calling on monsay morning, so,i will defiantly post
I was able to order transcript 2 days ago I was accepted on the 26th IM so worried I had alot of changes this year including a new baby new jobs and new filing status
I seen that too, hopefully that will be the case. I was able to order my return transcripts didn’t try the account transcripts.

@trgolian … i have a walmart money card also… i tried to contact them in the middle of the month to see if they were going to open DD to the card for Tax Season but no answer… and it was getting close to when i could file so i got myself a netspend card because i got no reply from walmart money card :( and now i checked the FAQ’s in Walmart card and they’ve opened the DD to accepted federal tax returns now but they havent advertised it like they usually do :( oh well i got a netspend card now haha

What i am getting on the 800# says they mailed me something and they would like me to return the mail (probably with a signature) and I should get that within 30 days and nothing can happen til they receive the mail back. I have a dd date for 2/6. I have Navy Federal Credit Union, and I have a feeling that the money will be in my account on Monday. I am hoping that happens anyways. I am just glad that I finally got a dd and that I am not alone. I am just as anxious as everyone here!
I also have a dd date for 2/6. Have fees that have to be taken out by RB first then going to my bank (sun trust).
I got that one last year…it just meant that they had to go through it by hand as it was flagged for fraud. It took me 4 months to get it worked out and in the end I didn’t have to do anything it was a computer error on their end. So I just had to wait for it to get looked at by the fraud department and wait in line. a tax advocate couldn’t even speed it up. Good luck but you wont be seeing a refund any time soon and when you call about it you are going to get it is being reviewed and you must wait till it is done being reviewed- also they will say if we need anything we will mail a request.
jazzy…I think it all depends what order you are in..I filed Jan 14th but it sat waiting on the H&R bank server until the 30th then was sent in. A lot of ppl did it early and it sat until the IRS started accepting them.
Marsha, from what I have seen ppl are getting a deposit every day of the week, also if they “can’t find you ” on the WMR site it is because you have checked more then three times in a 24 hour period, so you have been locked out. You can still call the 800#. WMR does not update on Sundays just an FYI.yes every year they take out 500$ but say my refund is 1000 i could only efile on 500 as they would already pull that out, if that makes sense. Why do u owe this also?

Same here filed on 1/29 accepted by irs1/30 but wmr says still processing also other ppl that filed the same day asbme has already got there dd date. Does anyone know whats going on?????
Filled with turbo tax on 02/01 was accepted like 30 mins later. WMR says prossing. Any one else out there file the same day and have any other info?
Marsha, WMR is WAY off this year. They probably did that on purpose for people like me who like to know exacts. So don’t worry! Also, last year I got my refund on a wednesday :)
I don’t know if this is the case for you guys, but in years past, I have always had my refund a few days late simply due to my bank and the weekend. It seems that my deposit was sent on my DD (say for you guys 2/1/13) and since it was sent on Friday after midnight, it wouldn’t hit my bank til later that day. My bank posts deposits first thing in the am, so it would be too late for it to post to my account that day and then they don’t post on weekends. So, my money was always there first thing Monday morning. That’s why the IRS always says “set to be deposited by ____ if u don;t receive by_____ contact us”. It gives a few days for this issue. Also, after my money was sent for about a week following, wmr always said processing, or could never find me. This may not be the case, but maybe it is. I hope it helps relax you some..
Accepted 1/23 and going on netspend. Last year my refund was supposed to be sent on wed and I got it late Sunday. Also some with 2/5 got it Thursday. Hope I get it soon.
Since when does the IRS do DD’s in the middle of the week i am really curious to see if that really happens.. mine is now saying that they cant find me.. why does this happen? Getting upset accepted 1/30/2013 with no updates!

received dd 2/6 this morning….hopin for Monday also!IRS accepted return on 01/30..update this morning DD of 2/6..EIC and self employed..from what I have seen it takes 3-4 days for the WMR to update for most..Six days from accept to deposit. I would say IRS is rocking it this year!
