Ok here is my situation. Got accepted on the 29, on the 1st got the dreadful msg Take action and I should receive a letter in the mail. On Sunday I had a deposit in my net spend card minus the EIC. So i called yesterday and talked to a very helpful rep. He said I should receive a letter in the mail stating that I have to prove that I have a right to claim for Eic. He didnt say when I will get the letter or how long it will take. Checked the mail and no letter yet. Really hoping it comes soon!
I filed on 1/29/ accepted 1/30, in processing ever since. cant order any transcripts, called irs several times and cant get past the whole 21 day spill.

I thought it was odd since other people have reported speaking to people and getting actual info. Maybe I will call tommorrow if I don’t see any updates. When was your return accepted?
Anyone call the irs and get a DD for this week and still can not order transcripts. I’m kind of freaking out at this point because everyone i’ve seen has been able to pull transcripts!
I got a little bit of good news. I got what I paid in federal about an hr ago. Unfortunately they are still holding my EITC.
txgirl- Obviosuly what the IRS lady told you is incorrect since people have been receiving their deposits. I bet if you called and spoke to a different lady, she’d tell you something different. They always do that. Every year I read about random things the IRS people tell everyone. Nothing ever matches up.

I just got off the phone with my CPA who did my taxes. His office has just received an email from the IRS this morning around 10am, stating form 8863 may now be delayed until the second week of March and under any circumstances to not submit any more 8863 forms until notified by the IRS.I am taking it as a grain of salt.. at this point there is so much hearsay floating around that I am not believing anything until the IRS puts a new press release out.
2nd part
I filed 1/30 late in the day and was promptly sent an email notice from TT that the my federal return was not sent to the I.R.S as they were not accepting form 8863. The email stated that once the I.R.S notified TT that they were accepting the form they would send my efile to them. Fast Forward to today 2/5 I called TT to see if my return was transmitted or if they still have the return held. The lady on the phone was clueless she finally came back and said that my efile was batched to the I.R.S and they have it. I am not really hurting for my return as others are, I am going to use it to go on vacation in May. I am just trying to confirm what the status of the efile is NOT the return. I honestly believe TT just forced all of the returns to the I.R.S refusing to listen, which in turn will cause the I.R.S to reject all returns and make us all re-file which will make us wait until later this year for returns.OMG I am so pissed!!! I just called to verify the banking information so I could talk to someone about this 8863 hold. And they just told me that my banking information did not go over with the efile from Taxslayer!!! So they now are mailing out a check once they finish processing!! OMG this happened last year too!

This is part of the announcement that the IRS made on 1/28/2013. I am curious to what actually are the folks that are actually get DD dates claiming, AOC? Loan Interest? Tution and Fees reduction or Lifetime Learning Credit. Seems that if you are only claiming the Loan Interest or Tution and Fees reduction there is no hold up. I filed 1/22, was accepted on 1/25. WMR is pending, IRS to go is Pending, 829-1040 same thing pending, but on hold now to see what they say when I talk to a live person.
Accepted 1/27 and i am still processing and can not get return transcript. I was told yesterday my return is under review and refund being held. Then today i was told that isnt true and my return is still in processing. I really dont know what going on. Anyone else accepted 27th still processing?
Called Suntrust and they confirmed that my IRS DD was pending and would be in the bank in AM on 2/6!!!!! Thank God, good luck to all and you shoyuld see your DDs by tonight or the monrning depending on when you finanacial institution processes their ACH deposits. Till next year peeps, we can do this all again lol, GoD Bless.
My bank said it sees it being deposited for tomorrow so Im excited but I went to try to log on WMR and I was locked out again. I swear I gotta stop checking that thing. But i doubt I’ll ever reach that 3rd bar
I keep trying to order a transcript and it keeps saying my address doesn’t match, but when I call IRS and they verify my address, I’m fine. I was told I was accepted on the 29th by TT, but yesterday the irs lady told me i was accepted the 31st and today a different lady (REALLY NICE) told me they’ve had my return since the 30th. I don’t know what in the hell is going on but I am getting annoyed with people getting DD’s who filed and were accepted after me. Just goes to show, never count on your tax refund before it’s actually in your hand.
I filed on 2/1 using TurboTax – got an e-mail about 30 min. later saying my Federal was accepted – WMR has shown the progress as “Processing” and gave me the customary ’21 day wait’ speel (still does as of an hour ago), 1-800 IRS number says the same thing.. I was able to order my 2012 transcripts though. Having my money DD onto a Walmart card… hoping for a DD tomorrow? :) – Oh – filed a 1040Ez, EIC – no other credits – I do attend school but plan on doing an amended return when the correct forms come out. ;)

I can’t refile with another company, as I am one of the “lucky” ones that was sent to the IRS early and accepted on the 25th. I found out about the delay on the 28th. Again, had I know that my return was going to be filed early, I would have opted to wait it out. From past experience, it always seems to me that you are taking a chance filing early and opting to be the person that they, “test their systems on.” I lurked on this page last year and can remember several early filers complaining that their returns were delayed because of filing early. I was livid when I learned that the IRS warned big named preparers early that forms were not finalized and that they had advised preparers against sending returns in early because of the fiscal cliff fiasco. When I filed, I was told that my return would be first in line when, “THE IRS BEGINS ACCEPTING RETURNS ON THE 30TH.” Instead, I should have been told, “WE MIGHT SEND YOUR RETURN IN EARLY AND YOUR RETURN MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT BE PROCESSED EARLY. IT ALL DEPENDS, OF COURSE, IF THE IRS GETS THEIR S*** TOGETHER IN TIME.” I do not believe for one minute that the tax preparers were not told in advance of a possible problem BEFORE continuing to accept and file early returns. Perhaps the small preparers were left out of the loop, but not the bigger companies. That particular form affects too many tax payers. They had to have known.
I was accepted using TT on 1/30. Still no dd. I called IRS and was told they are not even allowed to open/access anyone’s account until after 21 days have passed. I am hesitant to order transcript. Seems like some who were accepted 1/30 have date(some $) Im in the waiting game.
I just talked to the IRS and they said they have some technical difficulty posting my info to,my account. Talking about they assigned someone to work on it. Nothing wrong with the info and it might take 6 to 8 weeks for me to get my money! What OS going on ? I never had a problem before. My status says “will provide a dd when available” also.
Hmm well I was able to get my transcript. I’ve never had any issue with tax refunds, usually get them pretty quickly.
A friend of mine filed on the 30th and her money was deposited this morning. She used TaxAct just like I did.
Any updates on the actual date the IRS will start to post the delayed forms? I’m not a 8863, I have a form 8859 (DC Home buyer) but I’m in the same boat, or maybe a worse one, since mine isn’t expected to be ready until late Feb – early March.
If we filed through hrblock online and have it going on an emerald card, how can we check to see pending deposits from the irs? I can’t get any info on the phone and can’t find it online.
I woke up this morning to a deposit at my credit union!!! No fees being taken out… :)

This is like a form of torture…also, the survey should have an area for suggestions, like they should tell you “this system was last updated on….and will update again on…” I am really upset that i filed our, and both of my brothers tax returns within minutes and one brother already has his money and the other has a dd date of 2/8 and i have nothing.
I did go to my FAFSA and use the IRS retrieval tool which did pull up my info for this year…basically a transcript, the info was there. So if it is any indication, my transcript is available but I still don’t have a DD.
Filed on 1/30..accepted 1/30..then on sunday morning received a dd of 2/7…I used Jackson Hewitt and had my refund sent to my rushcard…last yr it came at midnight the day dd was supposed to be sent..which was 2/16. Still waiting for info on ny state tax …says to wait one week before checking..usually get it two weeks after my federal.
When I talked to the IRS today for the first time they pulled up my info and basically told me that it was just sitting there…i was accepted already BEFORE on the 26th in the morning!..and Im seeing people with the same form getting DD dates who filed and were accepted after me???? WTF
when will this nightmare be over….Ive heard the 7th and the 11th and the 15th…OMFG
has anybody esle WMR bar changed? Im still on refund approved.. Tomorrow is the day it has listed for deposit but not sure why its still just at amount approved
I have had the same issues with different stories. I cant get a straight answer from anyone. I spooke with the IRS today and they said they dont even have my tax return that i filed on 1-30-13. Then I spoke with Turbo Tax and the lady was a complete idiot and wanted to tell me that the return was pending in their system…which I already knew. She could not tell me if the IRS has actually recieved my return or not even though when i chatted online with a turbo tax agent they told me the IRS had indeed received it. So I dont know if Turbo Tax is just holding the returns or if the IRS just wont tell you that they have received it because they can not process it. I was also told that it is still Mid Feb for the processing but she would not tell me anymore than that.

About transcripts: Many people believe that being able to order a transcript means that their return has been processed and this is true. However, people who deal with ID theft, reviews, holds, etc… can also order a transcript fairly quickly after filing. I’ve experienced this myself. So I would take it with a grain of salt if you can order transcripts. It’s a good thing that you have been processed but that is NOT an indicator that a deposit is right around the corner. Every filer will be different. So it’s up to you if you take it as good news or not.

@compwiz1202, My bank, FSNB, shows pending deposits. Its a nice feature to have with online banking. Hoping Ill see something in the pending section today!
accepted 30th ordered return transcript 2nd, went into under review 3rd, called irs twice, both times got lucky and someone pulled up my account and said it is processing. Not sure though if this is what they are told to say or if WMR is still as screwed as it was last year.
I wish they would just add pending deposits to stuff you could see with online banking like years ago when they finally let you see pending check card purchases.
I was accepted 1/31 and still have the 21 day message… what gives?? I kinda liked having even an estimated date to work with..I am not liking this new “bar” system. I filed through TaxAct & chose to have my fees taken out of my Federal Refund…will this make it take longer? I usually always pay out of my checking acct, but didn’t have the money to at the point I filed my taxes. Anyone have any info on filing this way?

How can you find out if you have pending deposits with the emerald card? when I call them all I get is someone who doesn’t speak english tell me to wait till the date the IRS gave me. When I log onto my account online it just says $0 but doesn’t tell me if anything is in limbo.
Filed 1/29 accepted 1/30. WMR said processing from 1/31 to 2/4. Now says it’s processing and a refund date will be provided when available. I was able to order the return transcript, does that mean my return was processed?

I am a fellow 8863’r. I filed with turbo tax on the 21rst, and was accepted on the 25th. I finally broke down and called the IRS myself today. The lady I had was extremely cordial. However, she mentioned that tax returns that include 8863 might not be processed until LATE FEBRUARY OR EARLY MARCH. I wanted to cry. I know that all the reps from the IRS are giving us all different stories, but just wanted to share mine!
I wanted to add one more thing…Like many of you, I decided to file as soon as I received my tax information. Largely I did this because Turbo Tax reassured me that by filing early, I would be the, “first in line to get my refund faster.” When speaking to the IRS rep, I told her that had I known about the 8863 form delay, I would have opted to leave it out since it did not effect my refund by a huge amount. This IRS lady told me that they informed ALL TAX PREPARERS about allowing customers to file early because of the end of the year fiasco. As you all recall, the form was delayed on the 28th. Had I waited until the 30th, opening day, I would not be in this mess. She specifically told me that all of the “big name” tax preparation companies were informed of this. So, I, myself, hold Turbo Tax partly responsible. Last year, I remember that a number of early filers were delayed as well. This will not happen again next year. I will wait until a day or two after opening. Even if it means I wait a week, its certainly better than waiting for a month and a half.
And just one more final thought….A number of people have commented that it is common knowledge for the IRS to, “accept a few returns early to test their software.” When I filed our taxes, I was told by turbo tax that OUR refund would be submitted to the IRS on the 30th, the first day the IRS was starting to accept refunds. Never in any fine print did I notice anything about authorizing them to submit my return early in order to be a, “test subject.” Again, the news of the 8863 was announced on the 28th. Had TT waited until the 30th to submit our returns, I could have possibly called them and perhaps did something about omitting that form. It was my understanding that even though I filed on the 21rst, my return would be HELD by TT until the IRS began accepting returns. I don’t know about you all, but I think of tax time as my Christmas! I patiently count down the days until tax time as it is the one time of year I am able to splurge on something nice for our family. I would not have CHOSEN to roll the dice basically and be a test subject, especially knowing about the financial cliff crap at the end of the year.
Last year we never got a DD date and the money just appeared one day on our bank account.
This year we’ll have to juggle a bit more because my husband was in the hospital for a month and I missed a lot of work due to that myself. He won’t get a short term disability payment as we had hoped he would so this tax return will be having to work as a paycheck…unfortunately.Pretty much the same for me. Anything changed for y’all?

I have a DD of 2/6 and I just checked SBBT and the refund is now showing as sent to my bank and my bank desposits DD’s a day earlier than scheduled but they don’t have anything pending or showing in their “warehouse” as he called it. My bank does DD updates a few times a day and my SBBT status just updated a few minutes ago, hopefully SBBT just didn’t get it out until after my bank did the DD update and my bank will pick it up on the next update after 3pm.
I got accepted 1/29 same day I filed and got my DD on 2/2 at 430 am of 2/6. My bank doesnt see anything pending yet so hopefully we see it tomorrow

I’m sorry, I know this has been posted a million times but what is the point in ordering a transcript? This means they’ve processed it?
I bank with Woodforest, woke up to my deposit….I guess they really do make your IRS funds available just the same as my paycheck.

Filed 1/29 accepted 1/29 or 1/30, got a DD date of 2/7 on 2/1.
State just said its been accepted expect a check/deposit within 5-7 business days. Which is the same time my Federal should show up. so 2/6 to 2/9 for state. So Oregons not too slow this year. Last year it took 14 days for state.
So excited this morning! I am finally not a ghost! I know to those of you who have already been “in processing” this isn’t big news for you, however, I hope that means some of you will wake up to a DD this morning! So glad to be acknowledged finally!!! Made my day!

got my refund few mins ago in my account. wmr still shows refund approved and not sent. however, I am feeling sad for my friend who was accepted on 1/28th as well but no progress. still shows as return received. she keeps checking sbbt (since fees are deducted) and still no deposits. but I got mine…just to update everyone with the dd date 2/5.
I filed with HRB Block on Feb 2 & was accepted the same day. I don’t know how people are estimating their refund dates., and my fees are coming out of my refund.
Anyone get any updates ? So frustrated. Every year they have issues and have to hold returns up for one reason or another. How about getting all your ducks in a row and having everything good to go by January 15th every year. If congress makes changes, they should have to wait until the following year.. good or bad.

Well the good news is that I honestly doubt that this many people are getting reviewed. I hope not at least! Who all has the EIC. This is what I’ve noticed has been getting people reviewed.
