This has been going on for years. I personally feel they are moving quite swiftly this year. Out of millions of tax returns, there only a handful using this forum this year. Look at prior years.
Well today I called and was told that whoever told me that my letter was sent 2/14 was wrong.
Received 570 on 2/8 and then 971 on 2/15. Agent told me on 2/20, a letter was sent on 2/14 dated 3/4. Called this morning 2/29 as I have not received anything and was told that the notices are postdated but the agent looked again and said no, my letter is actually being mailed on 3/4.
Guess I will take a pause and come back in April.
Filed and accepted 1/19Mine is the same thing. I went from PATH message to still processing refund date will be provided when one becomes available. I called them a couple days ago before I got this message and they said my return was in the errors resolution department. Can’t tell me why and I may get a letter asking for more info or I may not. Could take up to ten weeks.
I guess my message didn’t go through. I was wondering if PA really takes 14-18 weeks to see your return. No eitc or ctc.
No updates for me yet (Filed 1/18, accepted 1/19, received verify letter on 2/23). I am usually a weekly, so hoping it updates tonight or Friday, but I have never had anything take this long and I am so frustrated with the general lack of updates over five weeks now.
I filed late to avoid the paths act but I haven’t seen any movement.

Usually a weekly but last year was a daily.Are they just moving slow or is it possible I’m weekly again? If so what are the update dates for weekly?

My thoughts are that this country is in shambles and operates on lies and secrecy.
When people banded together to understand and determine when to REALLY expect our returns and transcripts and cycle dates, every year they attempt to lie about the process and prevent us for knowing they drag the process out to gain money for taxes paid to issue refunds. In all this technology it cannot take this long or be this difficult to send payments. It’s never difficult for them to receive payment.
My thoughts are that this country is in shambles and operates on lies and secrecy.

Just got this by text! My adult kids also alll filed 01/29 and accepted 02/02 just got green zeroed out. Movement coming !

I received my 5071C letter today to verify I answered three questions and was done hopefully I see a update soon
@Brandon you are well past the 21 day mark so contact the IRS and have them give you the reason for the delay. if the agent you are on the phone with is giving you canned generic answers then hang up and call back and speak with another agent. some are just lazy and won’t bother to look it up or they will place you on hold and come back saying they dont know anything when in reality they didnt bother looking it up for you.
So the 4/15 is when it’s due. That’s on most of them. I can’t see mine at all. Processing sometimes can mean that’s the next week they will process that batch of returns and can also mean nothing at all. As long as you’re not showing verify I wouldn’t worry. Hopefully it will go through the next batch of updates!

Like a lot of people here i am also in the bracket of waiting for the IRS to move their butts and let me know whats going on with the tax returns. I filed on 1/29 and as of today i’ve gotten no update about the status other than the usual “we apologize” message on WMR.
Reading through the posts here gave me the idea to look at my transcripts which, as i figured, took an act of congress to get past their poor systems but finally i got in. Now that im looking over them there are a few dates that stand out to me.
One says processing date is 03/04/23 while another says 04/15/2024.. Now im not the sharpest tool in the shed but i’m pretty sure both of those dates are well past the 21 days (by a lot!) Can someone more knowledgeable with this tax mumbo jumbo help dumb it down for me? Haha.

Hey, I received my refund, but i look occasionally to see if I can help with things I’ve gone through. So, I was accepted on 1/18,my transcripts literally said the same as yours, up until 2/16 when my refund was approved on my transcripts. Before then nothing!As for the verify identity, I had that on WMR & was told wait for a letter, when I went to check to see if the letter was sent on my transcript, it ended up being 846 and no need to verify, so hopefully this will happen to you!🤞

Cont. so when I call they say it’s verify identity and wait for a letter. Yesterday was day 14 and still no letter. They can see it’s been sent but I can’t. My end never stated anything except still processing.
Do you see anything on your line account (not wmr) about verifying your tax return? All of mine matches what you said about yours with the exception of my id me account saying I need to verify my return.

This is crazy my are completely blank lol have they even looked at our returns at this point lolSo I assuming that the IRS hasn’t even touched my return! I have ZERO (N/A) info on ANY transcript except the Wage and Income section which has VERY little info and says No tax return filed! I was accepted on 1/29 and WMR says the general “Still processing a refund date will be provided when one becomes available. I have no info like an “As of” date or anything like that. I don’t even have 2023 on my account transcript just N/A! No notices or letters, no id verify info, just NOTHING! Can anyone confirm for me if it is likely they haven’t done anything with it yet?

I’m sure like myself you all have your own idea’s of what is really going on with these long delays in refunds, no updates, no movements on accounts, all the verify accounts/income, letters that were sent but not received, calls that go unanswered…
I personally, just my opinion, think that they tried (and the word ‘tried’ is main word here) to upgrade a very old system. All the talk of tax fraud, this system was supposed to weed that out, only to have it come crashing down? Now, there are all these refund accounts just sitting in limbo.
Even when you call and can actually talk to someone, no one seems to know what’s going on.
Anyone else have any thoughts on what is ‘really’ going on behind the scenes with these returns?
Filed 1/28 accepted 1/29. Top two still NA. No updates with an as of date of 2/19. Have not received any verify letter & nothing in todays mail either.

filed & accepted 02/02/24 Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available no tax topic 152 is all shows no transcripts n/a this is my first time filing
Filed 2/17 accepted 2/19. ZERO updates for 9 days. I’ve been filing the same for years. NEVER has it been such a waiting game for ANY type of updates or movements for me.
If you file the form with your taxes it takes 11 weeks before you see any positive updates, in the mean time you will see as of date changes everytime it gets close to when it should be processed, last year I filed the form and they still took my refund so had to get an advocate to get it returned to me, it was a hot mess! so for 3 years I have had to go thru this!! I will be praying for you
Your letter should be mailed on the 4th, so you will be officially “notified” of the review and that it will take UP TO 60 days to complete. They suggest you go back over your return and make sure all numbers are correct and if so, just wait it out.
You won’t update until they complete their review, and its the federal government, so I’d be prepared for the whole 60 days.
Filed 1/31 and accepted same day. PATHER. As of date still 2/26. Transcripts still blank. WMR just updated to my return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available. Anyone else in the same boat?
Filed and accepted 2/14/2024 with HRB. Still on processing. I got my federal on 2/16/2024 (bank does early deposit). First year getting a refund from the state how long do they normally take?

2/23 WMR went to ID verify and attempted and system says we are unable to provided assist
Called Friday and Tuesday both reps say don’t see where I need to do that but to wait 60 days from 2/14 from date of fax to call back if no update which would be 4/14
As of date is 2/26/24 nothing but head of house on transcript and didn’t think that date would pass with no updates … so confused
