Hey everyone! I’ve been “received” with negative refund balance since I was accepted the 30th of January. Checked at 11am this morning and was still the same. Decided to check one more time before giving up for tomorrow just now (2:11 pm) and now have a 0.00 balance. Checked the refunds page and have my refund dated for Feb 9, 2024 scheduled.

Thought I’d post to give more data points for people wondering if MTC will update throughout the day

@fitmommy83 Wisconsin returns are not effected by PATH. I’m stuck on proccessing as well, since 1/29. Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw :(

I just checked again today and it’s back to just the PATH message.

This isn’t my first year claiming kids, it’s my 16th so it definitely caught me off guard.

Filed 1/24/24 and accepted on 1/25/24. WMR shows received and allow up to 21 days from acceptance date for refund. TT shows my estimated refund date as 2/14/24. 2023 account transcript shows as no record of return filed. Anyone seeing more movement than this? I’ve been an 05 cycle code for the last 3 years so if that remains the same I’m hoping to get an update this Friday.

so the IRS didnt officially start Processing returns until 1/29. so dont count the days prior to that in your 21 day time frame. the ones getting DDD so early are the test batches they do prior to officially starting

I filed with TT 1/14 was accepted 1/26 and my transcript shows 2/19 with $0.00 also not sure what’s going on I have my 17 yr old on mine which I always claimed my kids until they have aged out .

Filed both state and federal 2/2 with TT, accepted about 20-30 minutes later. My state (SC) already shows approved and on step 4 of 4 (ready to be issued) as of yesterday, but no movement on the federal yet. Wage & Income transcript still says no record of return filed, and the other 3 transcript types are N/A for 2023. But we have EITC and ACTC so I expect it will be closer to the end of the month before we see anything.

I tracked past refunds where I filed on 2/10 of last year, the refund arrived on 2/17. The year before that I filed 2/11 and it arrived 2/18.

By all accounts, I should have it by now, but it is still taking it’s time. It has always arrived quickly ever since I moved here 7 years ago.

Same here. No path or anything, but still no transcript update. However, I went back and checked, and it took 11 days to get updated transcripts last year and the got my direct deposit 3 days later (Chime). So hoping the same will happen this year.

On MTC it reads the same. I check it on WMR and it says additional information required and they mailed something. Always something lol. Annoying they can’t just put it online

Filed online on 1/21 with HRB. When I visit the WMR get the same “Verify my Identity”. I of course did this on 1/27 when I went to check after the IRS started processing returns. All have gotten back so far is the form CP303. No other information has yet to be received. Monday I contacted the IRS after being transferred around 2 or 3 times got a person who questioned how i even got through to them and was not helpful in answering questions.

State doesn’t process until federal starts which was the 29th, but MD conveniently scheduled a computer upgrade right when it opened. No processing was done from 1/29- 2/5 so really the first day was today.

I been reading and looking into this and no one has an actual solid answer . I filed on 1/20 and accepted with 1/24 via H&R Block online . I have never qualified for EIC or ACTC because I always made way too much, and I normally get my refund pretty fast but this year I claimed my step son who turned 18 last November and this is the first time I ever claimed him along with my 11 year old . So I’m sure I am not PATH act as far as I am aware .

So what is the deal with the account transcript showing $0.00 as of date Feb 19 ?

So i just read an article on a local news site (nj1015.com) that essentially said on top of all the changes to the various credits and such that the IRS expanded the WMR tool to give more detailed information in certain situations and for certain statuses. Essentially things are not going to look or act the same as they have in the past. So expect some differences in status messages and how the “3 bars” behave.

Yes it’s definitely different. Our refund was approved but it doesn’t show a DDD. Instead it says that if our refund isn’t in our bank by Feb. 12 to contact them. So I’m assuming Feb. 12 is the direct deposit date.

Filing through Calfile is not optimal anymore. Because we didn’t file through places like Turbo Tax, FreeTaxUsa etc…. We have to wait longer. My sister and I both filed on Jan 29 but I used Calfile and she used FreeTaxUSA. Her refund was approved on 1/31 and she received her direct deposit on 2/2 (NavyFed released early – had pending date of 2/5). Meanwhile, mine is still on processing.

Look for a number 971 on your transcript if you see that number on the bottom I believe that lets you know that a letter will be mailed to you if you don’t see that then your good 👍

It’s All the same you are correct it’s still kinda early but you should start seeing more info as the week progresses to next week as it gets closer to the 15th that’s all that’s why everyone who claims such credits see the same message nothing to be worried about unless you see anything about verification or some sort just wait to be processed and relax

It is a pretty BLUE. It is saying we have received your return and it is being processed so I am on RECEIVED… I got an email when it was ACCEPTED but that’s it… I’m waiting on a DDD. But look at what I posted about HR Block and what my transcript says Im trying to see something too :)

Under my Michigan site it says received Jan 25th and it shows the forms but no other information as far as a dd date or anything. I did have a small earned income credit so I don’t know if that is why. Hoping someone has had a similar experience. Last year I did not have to wait and I had the earned income also

So me and my boyfriend updated today, but of course it updated saying more info needed and a letter would be sent. My boyfriends I was able to look online and said it was chosen for verification so just had to upload his w-2, paystub, and id, which I did early this AM. Of course mine says a letter will be sent in 10-14 days and I’m not able to look at it online.

They will take your refund. If your refund is more than what you owe IRS, you will receive the balance.

For everybody who’s all out of sorts because OP stated the TT estimated DDD, this website that we are on has the same date for refund/transcripts cycle. I know there’s no guarantee but from past experience it seems pretty close if all goes well.
