It’s always best to pay for your refund out of pocket rather than with your refund. I know money is tight but try to keep that in mind throughout the year for next tax season. Youll get your money earlier and pay less in fees when you pay out of pocket vs with your refund!

I filed on the 24th accepted same day. Previous years my transcript did not take this long to populate. Bottom 2 has 2023 but no info other than AS OF DATE IS 2/19. What’s going on this year ?

Traci your date that keeps moving is the “as of” date. Thays meaningless as far as trying to figure out when your reurn will come. That date isbjust an irs placeholder that shows how much you owe or they owe you on that date. Its really just the earliest date that they will process the return.

yeah after they take 2 to 3 days to reach back to you after checking your info sent to them. i’m still awaiting for an email. All these people are in on this transcript deception working for the IRS even on this site and others posting all this stuff about transcripts trying to get folk to sign up being forced to have to send in info to irs tricking us

I tried checking mine an hour ago. Received a message I’ve never seen in all my years filing “there was a problem getting your information please try again later ” on both irs2go app and wmr. I went into phones app settings, cleared cache and data, forced stopped, re-entered info, and it was working again!

I can’t speak on this year yet, since I just filled 4 days ago, but last year I filed on January 31 and received my refund on February 8. I do not get the eitc or actc, so I am not a path filer. It’s the fastest I have ever received it.

I don’t think you should worry much, unless you get an update or letter. If it turns out you filed twice, one will simply be rejected.

Yes. I filed early and was accepted in the test batch (1/18). I’m on PATH though (5 kids). I’ve gotten that message every day since the 19th. It’s frustrating. I contacted who I filed through and it says my taxes are on hold. At this point I assume it’s because I went from a stay at home mom, not filing for over a decade. Last year I filed single (claimed my education credit for college) and now this year I’m head of household and claiming dependents. I figure they might have me ID verify.

So I was told that my taxes were filed on 2 February. I have one dependent but when I go to check the status of the bars on where is my refund it’s telling me that the information that I’m putting in is not correct I’m being told by the tax preparer to give it a few days for the system to update. Has anyone gone through the same situation or is receiving the same message when they check their status I just wanna make sure I’m being told the truth.

It just means it isn’t processed yet. Remember the IRS says to give them 21 days. The season only opened on the 29th and even if you were accepted early, your processing time starts 21 days from the 29th. Unless you populate any codes on WMR shows anything you don’t need to worry.

Is ID ME trapping filers into being forced to verify with IRS?? We want to see our transcripts no longer can use old user name and password having to sign up for ID ME so when folk attempt too and fail does it notify IRS to ask for proof of Identity on WMR before you can go any further in the tax process??? Some type of set up or it’s separate you just can’t access your transcripts but still can get your refund. just wondering!!

@momx3 the 768 code is the EIC you qualify for. Whatever dollar amount is listed for it is part of what you get back. The 766 code is the other part of your refund. You get both amounts.

Okay, not so much by accident. I filed online with Jackson Hewitt for my state taxes on 1/31. On the website it said I filed them on 2/1. It said that every day since then. Today, I log in, and it is telling me to file my state taxes. I talked to a support agent and it shows on their end that I never filed my state taxes?! And told me to finish filing them. So, I did it. Now I’m worried it will look like I tried to file twice?! I KNOW I filed them. I have the email from 1/31 saying thanks for filing, well send an email when they’re accepted(or rejected). I never did get a rejected or accepted notice for my state.

Yes, faster if u file before mid February and u are not claiming EITC/CTC credits. Usually 11 days from date you file…but really there’s no rhyme or reason with anything these days.

From what I understood is that returns werent accepted till 01/29 so they wouldnt have started processing till 01/29 so technically your count is from 01/29 regardless of how early you actually sent it. I keep getting told as soon as ten days but up to 21 days

It’s so frustrating that the State of Maryland Comptroller’s Office decided to upgrade their computer system the same week tax season opened. Their own website says it takes up to 3 days to process tax refunds and we are on day 2 (2/7) of their unofficial new first day of processing and still no updates! They do not respond to emails and do not answer their phones. So irritating.

My transcripts have everything but the issue refund code. They are moving different this year, they can process it, but they just can issue the refund before the 15th, Its gone be faster this year after seeing my transcript in this case.

I have historically gotten mine after president’s day when deposited in my main bank account. Last year I had to go to my CK account and got it the 17th. So PATHers we shall continue to wait. If history repeats itself WMR will bug out this weekend for us and then transcripts will post with a ddd 17-22
