In the past, my own experience with code 570 means that W2s are missing and I’m sure there are other reasons. I noticed that year that the social security website did not show my wages from my employer. This year my social security is showing my w2 on time and I have no 570 code. The year I had a 570 code I didn’t get my refund until March 11th or something like that

Accepted on the 19th, got all codes except 846. Woke up this morning to the PATH message, last year had a DDD of 2/22 and got it on 2/17. I do know there will be an offset on my taxes this year, before I’m on a payment plan. Maybe that’s the real holdup.

My amount was there in green too. I just thought that it wouldn’t hurt to call. Plus, I ALWAYS have to call every year. I chose the ID theft line and pressed 3 I believe to speak to someone. If the person asked why I was calling I was going to just say that I have to call every year to verify. They got my info, put me on hold and then came back saying it’s released and that’s it. I’m going to have to call again so I can tell you what promptings to choose.

My “where is my refund app” showed this message for weeks but updated to the Path message overnight( I am on a weekly update cycle)I was accepted on 1/29 all transcripts in accept my wage and income transcript resulting in a 570. Hopefully will see more movement soon

I contacted the IRS and spoke to a live representative who confirmed the hold (Code 570). Initially, they mentioned the standard three-week waiting period after return acceptance before they could access tax payers accounts, but after kindly asking they reviewed my account and explained that some employers haven’t submitted W2s yet. Once received, transcripts would update.

I’m in the same situation. Spoke to IRS today and they told me my letter was mailed out today (2/9/24). In order to verify my ID online, I will need to wait for the letter because I will need the control number. He also told me that I might possibly need last years tax return to verify my ID. Hoping the letter comes soon!

Only one person at an address can claim head of household.

Theres two parts to head of household, the residence and a qualifying dependent.

Hi everyone,

I filed online with H&R Block and was offered a Spruce account for my refund. I figured why not, so I signed up. I filed on 1/16 and it was accepted on 1/25. My refund paid my remaining tax balance (yay!!), and the leftover was to be sent to my Spruce account. A payment was sent from the IRS on 2/7, but I have not seen it in my account yet. When I called Spruce, I was transferred to HRB’s Emerald card fraud department (despite saying I don’t have an Emerald card), then to another HRB department where the rep was yawning through the call and having me repeat myself before reading me a paragraph about how my refund was held up due to me claiming a child tax credit. I replied I am single with no dependents, so I believe that did not apply to me. He then gave me the number to Spruce, who doesn’t show a pending payment.

I work 12-15 hour shifts, so I am unable to sit on hold for at least an hour with the IRS. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

My tax preparer said they sent in my tax return February 2 and it was accepted. few days later I start checking on where is my refund and I was given the same spill information incorrect blah blah I call an They’re telling me that the system is just not updating as fast as it should to just give it about a week, tonight, not morning. I owed the IRS $7,000.00 about 15 years ago. I was also on a payment plan. Until you are paid in full with them they’ll keep 100% of your refunds and apply it to the amount you owe them even if you’ve never missed a payment. Doesn’t seem fair but that’s how they operate.

is IRS code 570? Transaction code 570 means there is a hold on your account that’s preventing the IRS from finalizing your refund. You should wait for the IRS to ask you for additional information.

My 2023 is showing on transcripts but it’s blank still. I usually update so late that I notice my WMR update on Saturday before my transcripts. My social security account updated with my wages from my return so I’m sure I’ll see some movement this weekend. Waiting on PATH to lift either way

When checking refund status on WMR I get this message:

All the info I’m inputting is correct and nothing has changed except we made less money last year. We used the same tax person as the last 4 years. Usually it shows it was received at least. My IRS acct says I have not filed for this tax year yet. Anyone else ever have this take so long and then WMR just updates all of a sudden? It’s stressing me out so much that it’s not even showing received! 😭

@agastya you should see it update probably tomorrow on WMR to show that DDD. I file the child tax credit and somehow this year I already have a 846 with a refund issued of 2-14 as well. Not sure how but I’ll take it.

I contacted FTB again today, the lady I spoke with today was super helpful. She stated she would process my return today after asking a couple of verification questions. So far, no update on my FTB account. I will check again later today to see if it shows my refund balance.
