So I got some news!

Just looked at my transcript this morning and I got 571 and 846 which is dated for 4/12!

I looked at Where’s My Refund and it hasn’t updated yes so I’m guessing that will change tomorrow. So hopefully I should see my refund in my account this coming Friday!

I’m just glad I can see the light at the end of the tunnel…

No movement for me this last week. I called the IRS again this morning to make sure they had our 1099 since my husband took a 401k withdrawal last year, and I’ve seen a handful of people say their retirement company hadn’t sent them in. She said they have it, and they just “randomly selected” us to review our income. Unbelievable. We’ve never had this issue before. Hoping for some good news this week.

I verified 2 weeks ago and I sent in my income information 2/15. I had 2 letters I responded to. Now I am calling for an update and she’s telling me it’s still being held. She’s trying to figure out why. I will update when I get the information.. this is ridiculous.

Called a tax advocate earlier to see if they could do anything and they can’t help. Since I got a cp05 they told me I just have to wait but now instead of waiting 60 days (may 11th) I need to wait 120 so if I don’t get the refund or hear anything by July 9th I can call back. I withdrew from a 401k last year due to changing jobs and I feel like that’s the hold up. This is so frustrating. Hope we all find something out soon

Filed 2/1. 570 and 971 codes shortly after. Waited and finally received letter stating IRS was reviewing my info. Reach out to Senators office for advocacy and they informed me it was due to 403b withdrawal that IRS is currently unable to verify. Just sent in bank statements, as well as Nationwide Retirement statement showing withdrawal. Hopefully I get this refund soon. Ridiculous tax year so far.

Same problem here 570 2/26 971 3/4. Looks like something is coming today from IRS (not shown online transcripts) but it may be a letter re Tax Advocate. We requested expedited refund, hoping something would kick in before state taxes (didn’t withhold state for retirement withdrawal) are due soon.

Same thing I spoke with the tax advocate last week and they said that my 1099 that I reported they hadn’t received from the company that I had my retirement with. That’s why I am under a 60 day review which is bullshit.

Received information from Senator’s office. Found out that the IRS needed proof of my retirement withdrawal and that the copy of the 1099-R wasn’t good enough.
Sent the caseworker the statement showing the withdrawal and what taxes were taken and my bank statement showing the deposit.
This is BS. Isn’t this what the 1099-R is for? If I didn’t report it, I would have my money already!! CP05 said nothing needed. But obviously there was.

Yesterday April 3rd WMR updated from “still being processed” to we received your tax return and its being processed. 2023 Transcripts still state no return filed. Hopefully next week.

I faxed the information in regards to the 12c letter on February 21st. Six weeks and no updates on WMR and on transcripts says no return filed. Letter said would receive refund in 6-8 weeks from date they receive the requested information.

A taxpayer advocate called me on 4/2 said my employer reported lower wages and my w2 didn’t match. My employer had to write a letter on letterhead and uploaded it to the irs.gov/tasconnect.

Does anyone know if this does speed up the process? and who else is working with an advocate?

We are in the same situation as you Ida, nothing…we check daily just to try to understand. We filed 2/12 and it was accepted 2/12.

We have applied for FAFSA for our 18 year old attending college. We also claimed the Additional Child Tax Credit so we figured that was the hold up.

Called the IRS, they were suprisingly fast and helpful…stated we (like many others) are in the same boat and to please be patient.

Current History!! F/A 1/29/2024, filed IJ with 1040 electronically, 570, 971 and as of date 3/4/2024 the 971 notice was to inform additional refund, received letter and spoke with “THEM FOLKS” and they said to call back 4/15/2024 ummm why?
This is year number 4 for delay, the earliest I received my refund was June and the latest was Sept. Every year TA, last year congressman! So saying all that to say I am still waiting!!

Talked to an irs advocate tonight and found out that I was put into review because the 1099 that I submitted from a 401k withdrawal this year the irs has not received one on there end prior to the initial 21 days to process the return!! I’m still in limbo. Filed 2/02, been stuck on 570 with date of 03/04 for a long time. No letters have been sent (husband and I both have i.d me account) every week I check transcripts and wmr, all says still processing.

I’m so flustered, doing everything I can to stay afloat until we get this back. I’m losing hope. Son has surgery coming up fast an need this money for it. I don’t understand why this takes so long.

To verify in person. I called to set up an appointment on 4/1/24. The lady only asked basic personal questions, and a few questions about my 2023 1040. The appointments were all booked up till June. She said I would have to wait and call back next week. But I logged in today and was able to verify online, so now I don’t have to verify in person thank god!!

Filed 1/19 was accepted 1/20 received a transcript update 2/12 of a code (810) refund freeze 1/31 then updated with code 570 and 971 2/26. The letter stated it was nothing further for me to do but wait… called several times spoke to at least 5 different agents about the same exact issue and got 5 different reasons, issues, & resolves…. one of the last IRS agent stated I needed to file amended because my income was the issue, what I claimed didn’t match what they had, because I unintentionally left off a w2 for a job I only worked at for 1 week. stupidly, never having been through any issues I listened to him filed amended 2/29, on 4/8 code 570 was resolved and the refund freeze was removed 3/21 and because I filed amended I still haven’t received a date or anything and they say I may have to wait for up to 16 weeks even though the issues all resolved themselves and it’s nothing further needed 😒

I got a 2645C letter in the mail today saying they are working on my account but need an additional 60 days. Looked it up and it says the IRS received all the information it needed and just needs to process it.

Before that I got a CP05 on 03/04 with the code 570 and 971 both with different dates.

My husband filed 2/2 had to verify via website and did that 3/14, WMR updated over the weekend that there was an issue with his deposit account and they would mail a check by 4/5 but to wait until 5/5. Are there specific days they send checks? Just trying to get a guess as to when we’ll receive his funds

Checked my transcript today and still nothing. got the CP05 letter on 03/04/24 and filed on 01/28/24 got accepted 01/29/24. This is ridiculous and good luck having the rep tell you when you will see movement

I thought I had some brief hope after my IRS account showed I had a 0 balance vs it being blank on Sunday. However by the end of the day that changed back to being blank. I checked this morning, and nothing has changed (both account and transcript)… The TA can’t do anything till 120 days, and they are scheduling 4 weeks out (if not more) due to so many issues.
