My return was accepted today, WMR shows 1 bar with the standard message that most returns are processed in 21 days blah blah blah. Will update when anything changes!

Has anyone received a refund as of yet? I have a coworker who filed on 2/1/17 and was accepted same day who has the child tax credit but not EITC, received her refund today. 2/10/17.
I was under the impression that the IRS was holding returns for both EITC and CTC, is this not the case? -

Hey guys! I files early and got early acceptance. I claim an EITC and an ACTC. After acceptance on 1/18, wmr was saying the famous one liner about you should recieve your refund in 21 days…blah..standard message. This morning wmr changed to this
“if you filed a complete and accurate tax return you should recieve a refund in 21 days. Processing may take longer in certain circumstances” followed by tax topic 152
I was wondering if anyone else had gotten this message..maybe this is where they are going to leave our tax returns until Feb. 15??? Any thoughts?

So today I checked WMR and the bars have been replaced with a message stating ” Tax According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before February 15 for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.” Has anyone else received this message? Apparently it’s going to be a long ride this year!

This year is so different, not even hearing those that use a prepaid card, NetSpend hearing of early deposits. Older woman here and I can’t order either transcripts, still on processing, yet you see others that filed on a later day are receiving refunds. I filed before the 23rd to being away from home. Are there refunds already being received. Majority of the time no one comes back on after deposits.

I filed the 14th and was accepted on the 17th as well. However, being accepted just means that the IRS has received it.

They will accept it if everything is filled out completely but accepting and approving are 2 different things.

I filed early knowing that my return would be held due to new laws. But it was accepted on the 17th!
Who knows, they will probably push a few thru that are unchanged over the years! -
