The wording is different. Last year they said WMR will update ON FEB 17th. This year it says most will show an update BY feb 23rd.

Claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit
By law, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be in taxpayers’ bank accounts or debit cards starting Feb. 27, 2018, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. The law requires the IRS to hold the entire refund — even the portion not associated with the EITC or ACTC.

The IRS began updating “Where’s My Refund?” ‎on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go mobile app on Feb. 17, 2018, for most early filers who claimed the EITC or ACTC. The IRS, tax preparers and tax software will not have additional information on refund dates. “Where’s My Refund?” is the best way to check the status of a refund.

That was last years message! Transcripts showed 846 before WMR updated last year.

              Im referring to this statement:

“Where’s My Refund will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC and ACTC refund filers by February 23 so those filers will not see a refund date on Where’s My Refund ‎or through their software packages until then. The IRS, tax preparers and tax software will not have additional information on refund dates, so these filers should not contact or call about refunds before the end of February.”

Last year they issued the exact same statement but the “by” date was Feb 17, 2018 which is when WMR did update for most. So what I’m saying us based on view last year went based on the current IRS statement is that there is a good chance we wont see an update til the 23rd. Like everyone else I Do hope it’s sooner. But last year it happened exactly as that quoted statement for *most*.

@momjess i think its actually pushed back to the 27th this year. Irs updated the website, but last year they did the same thing (pushing the date back to the 27th) and people got their dd’s earlier.

I will be. But last year they said the big update for most pathers would be the 17th (and it was, some got updates the day before but most on the 17th). This year they’re saying most pathers will see an update the 23rd. I Do think all of us with transcripts viewable Will see an update this weekend with ddd’s of 2/21 but there’s the possibility it wont update until the 23rd.

@momjess i wouldnt be worried, just keep checking your transcripts for the 846 code periodically. last year they said the same thing and a lot of people get the dd between 2/14-2/23… This is my first year with path so i’m use to getting my refunds early.

I’m hoping we do update by this weekend. What worries me is where it says on the IRS site that most should update by the 23rd. Last year the message was the 17th and that’s when there was a huge daily and weekly update. So im hoping irs is just adding a 1 week cushion and not really delaying it another week.

PATH message is something completely different and removes the bar status. Below is that message:

According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.
Check Where’s My Refund in mid- to late February for your personalized refund status. It’s updated once a day and remains the best way to check the status of your refund.

Please read the following information related to your tax situation:

Same here. Submitted 1/28 and accepted 1/29. 1 bar since Feb 1st with Tax Topic 152.

EITC and ACTC. Crossing fingers for an update on Friday the 15th.

Thanks everyone for their 411 contributions!

Same info as me for the most part. I file with HRB every year so no worries there at least not for us. Filed 1/30 and we were accepted 1/31 and we have the ACTC credit and college credit.

We are sitting at one bar with tax topic 152. This topic is general and everyone gets it at the one bar phase so nothing to be alarmed about.

My Return transcript is still not available but my Account Transcript and Wage Transcripts say 2018 but when I click on them they are essentially blank and say a Return has not been filed.

I’m assuming we are still being processed. No codes etc is usually a good sign. I think we are delayed due to the first shut down and being PATH. Some people are getting the PATH message and some aren’t.

Hi guys! Just looking for a little clarity here. I am a Pather.

Filed and Accepted through HRB online on
                              1/31.

By last years transcripts I’m a weekly as well.

This year I’m unable to access transcripts online. I’ve had TT 152 and 1 bar for a bit now but cant remember if TT 152 is the Path Act notice? And I’m a little nervous, 1st year using HRB online since TT decided to charge for every little bit they could this year. Laughed when they wanted to charge me $39.99 to upgrade for a $36 credit. 😂

I can’t rely on WMR since the past two years I’ve received my DD before it updated. Aghh I’m going nuts not being able to access my transcripts.

Agreed. Last year my transcript updated on Friday Feb 16 and I got it that same day around 3 pm on a prepaid card.

wmr didn’t update until Saturday the 17th with a ddd of 2/22

How does the Refund Transfer work?
Usually 1 to 2 days before a refund is scheduled to arrive, the IRS sends a pre-notification of the refund amount to TPG. The IRS does not deposit the money at this time, but it is only a notification that the refund is on its way. We set up the disbursement upon receiving that pre-notification so that the money reaches the taxpayer on the same day it would have if the money was deposited directly from the the IRS into the taxpayer’s bank account.

@Jibbbjawww that is true, I get my fees taken out from TT as well. On the sbtbg site it states they get notification directly from the irs how much to expect for the refund. I’ll post it here in a few. I’m guessing that has to be good too.

I agree. Also another way I know my deposit update is near, is i keep watch out for an email from turbo tax that tells me thanking me for my purchase. I assume it is because they have at that point received their fees or something. Best wishes everyone.
