I filed the 18th of February and on the 25th my status bar went missing and I had no tax topic. So I wait for my 21 days which is just in 5 days. I will call them then and I am hoping to find out what is going on. I need to learn more patience but this is nuts…

Woke up to 2 Bars with a DDD of 2/24 as I expected after calling Offset Line at Midnight and hearing a DDD of 2/24.

For those of you still waiting, it was a 2 week hold as IRS told me on the phone it would be 2-3 weeks.

If you have any tax offsets from prior years this will happen to you as well, so hang in there.

Update: I called the IRS was told I was in review for ID theft from prior year issues on 2/16. I was told it would be 6-8 weeks from 2/8, which was the Monday after I lost my bars.
Checked wmr on 2/19 and noticed a difference in the wording.
It changed from “Your return is still being processed” to “we have recieved your return. It is being processed”
This piqued my interest so i decided to give ordering transcripts a try.
I was able to order both transcripts.
I woke up this morming with a ddd of 2/24

Huge update, filed on 1/22/16 accepted the same day, automatic 21 day hold because I had to get a replacement IP PIN since the one for this year was mailed to my previous address, called Monday 2/15 was told that there was a 1 week delay due to system issues and should have it on the 19th, didn’t receive it on the 19th, just checked wmr and I now have a ddd of 2/24, while the wait was horrifying I am so glad to report that it is over, and that there is hope, best of luck to everyone.

Filed 1/26 had no movement for 2 weeks called irs and had to id verify. I id verified me on the 10th or 11th and verified husband last week was told wait 9 weeks. Lost bars and tax topic after verifying my husband. I just got ddd for the 24th. Good luck everyone

I have been waiting since January to get some info on my refund, and I have had to do a identify verify, and they also told me that there was a processing error on my return on their end, so I would be sent back through processing and would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks either for my refund or a letter in the mail. Basically what many others are going through, but I noticed a slight difference on ” Where is my Refund”

My tax return status changed from “your tax return is still being process” to we have received your tax return and it is being processed” what does this mean? Or does it mean anything at all?

Ugggg never any good news!! Lost bars and topic the last week of january. Called irs on 2/8 was told I had to call the ID verify line.. Verified my identity on 2/8 on 2/10 letter was sent from the irs saying I had to ID verify.. Called the IRS on 2/16 to make sure the letter was a mistake and was told they had nothing showing I did it on the 8th so I answered all the questions again.. So just out of curiosity I called today and spoke to another IRS rep who was kind of rude and condrnsending.. He said that it shows on my account where I verified on the 8th and was told 8 weeks and then I was verified again and told again about the I weeks on 2/17.. So from what this quy said it will have to go from one department to another and will be about 16 weeks until I get a refund or a letter… Something about a error code they had to clear out.. But I was not shown any error code on the WMR.. Just no bars and no topic or codes.. And it still had all my refund info on the side… This whole thing is a bunch of BS!!!!

my tax return was sent to the identity thief deparent for review. They have 8 weeks to determine that i am me etc. Then once they do that they will kick me back into processing. Which could take another 8 weeks… So 16 weeks from 2/6/16 qhich is the day i lost my bars and tax topic….

This year no one submitted a fraud return but i was red flagged because last year someone did.
So last year i ended up getting my return 2nd week of march. So i figure since last yr it was fraud and this year there wasnt a second return crossing my fingers that i would get my return by 2nd week of march or sooner since they just have to verify that i am me. Lol

Okay. Filed with TT, on 1/26. Accepted 1/27.my fees to be taken out, and deposited to netspend. My 21 days are up. I had 1 bar, to wake up this past Monday to that annoying ” your return is still being processed. A deposit date will be issued when available.” My fiancé filed damn 2/3 got accepted and got his damn money LAST WEDNESDAY ! I want to know what’s going on? Where is my money?!? And how do I reach an actual agent to speak with?!? What number do I call?!?

I filed on the 24th of jan, since filing i never got an update on wmr at all. Not 1 bar or number. Always with the wrong info msg. I called on the 9th and was able to get someone to take a look at my account but all they were able to do is tell me they did recive it and to allow 21 to pass and i should get an update on the website soon.
So i waited. . . And to this day nothing. So i called today and was able to get some help. The lady told me i had a pay day of 2/18. Ask her why i was never able too see progress on the pizza tracker but had to idea. But hey i got good news. So to the people that have no bars theres hope.

I attempted to call yesterday, quickly realized it was a Federal Holiday
I attempted to call today and was told, the system is down.
Without being able to look into the system, the rep told me that if I haven’t got any notices or reference codes, there shouldn’t be an issue, but there was no way of knowing for sure.
She then told me, I could call back and I may be directed to a different call center that may not be having issues, or I could call tomorrow.

I’m so sick of being stuck in IRS limbo.

I hope this helps… So my best friend filed his taxes on the 22 of January. I filed on the 30th. He received ALL of his bars and a DDD of February 10, 2016. I received 1 bar the accepted bar and on the 6th of February they disappeared with NO TAX TOPIC.

On the 10th which was this past Wednesday, my best friend checked his account and saw that he had the same balance from the night before. I told him wait a few hours before he called the IRS. It’s states that if you don’t recieve your refund by 15th to contact them. He waited. Kept saying he had a sick feeling something was wrong. The following morning February 11th he’s completely paranoid. So we contacts the IRS.

They were EXTREMELY helpful. Now remind you all that he recieved ALL of his bars. The agent explained to my best friend that his return was under review. And that the WMR site has a glitch in the system. I didn’t believe the agent so I called about my refund. The agent advised that though I filed on the 30th that they didn’t get my return till the 5th and that I’d have to wait 21 days AT LEAST because my return was still being “processed”. I asked if the WMR website an accurate account as to when I should expect my refund. The agent advised that there have been glitches and that I should wait. To contact them if after the 21 days Ive either hadn’t received my refund or not notice had been provided. My best friend is BEYOND pissed. And I don’t blame him.

An IRS lady told me, I didn’t really get accepted til 1/25. And told me that I had to call the IDverify telephone number because of a hold on my refund. She stated that I should call on Monday to meet my 21 day minimum.

Screw that and I now just got off the phone with the IRS verify lady agent. I verified all my information and so like others. I’m on a up to 9 week waiting period. Ugh.

Just called to check the status. Filed 1/24 Accepted 1/24 bars went MIA 1/30/16. Called today 2/10/16 and was told that I needed to speak with the tax payer protection unit at 800-830-5084. I called and verified my information. She told me that I passed and to allow 9 weeks for my refund to process… Now the wait begins.

In 2012 someone stole my identity and filed a fraudulent claim. I was not able to file 2013 or 2014 as well. After 3 years and no progress I finally got a tax advocate. About 6 months ago the IRS finally processed my returns and gave me my long overdue refunds. I was told that I would be good to go for 2015 – apparently not. I called yesterday and was told my return was pulled for possible identity issues. The agent on the phone verified my information and that it was indeed my return the IRS had received after that I was told it would be a minimum of 30 up to 60 days before I would hear anything and to check the WMR site in mid March to see if it was processing yet. In my case the missing bars and no tax topic meant my account was flagged as high risk and defaulted my return into literal limbo – no one was looking at it because they assumed it was fraudulent. If you have no bars or tax topic, I would recommend at least trying to give the IRS a call. In my case I got lucky and didn’t get the 21 day run around but YMMV.

I am so worried we have no wmr bar or TT last year we got reviewed and didn’t get our refund until April but they just made us send in all this verification last year why would they need it again this year ….Nothing has changed this is be we are freaking out and I’m not sure if I should call or order my transcripts in fear of getting flagged frfr. Our taxes show it was received on 2/2/16 and a few days later everything disappeared besides the info to the left if the screen. Its no where near our 21 days but I’m really wanting to call and see if all they need to do is verify our info if so I’d rather do it now instead of waiting after their 21 days and then sending it and then waiting 6-8 weeks after that. Here’s my thing if it is an identity issue then they should just request for folks to send in something verifying who they are DL state ID copy of W2 that was mailed to them, what got me was you all can find me at my new address if I owe you some money so why didn’t they remail the IPPIN to the correct new address, instead of oh if you call us to get a replacement (where I still had to verify identity) you’re going to make me wait, I’m so over the IRS this year, because all they did was show identity thieves how to bypass them. The only thing that has ever changed was my address everything else including dependents and even income is always the same.

So I filed 1/19 showed excepted same day. Just got off phone with irs because my bars and tax topic went missing over the weekend. It said still processing.

She said I wasn’t really accepted till the 21st.
That my return is now on a hold could take an additional 6-8 weeks. She said it is because last year my identity was used to file, and yes it was. That they are taking additional steps to verify. What those are I do not know. She said I may or may not get something in the mail.

Lost my bars early Sunday morning after no movement since F/A 1/21..IDK what’s going on tho. Cannot order scripts only get recording that says “we have no info available for 2015”..I will have to call this week as my 21st day is 2/11. The IRS is on one this year, filed 1/22 accepted 1/22 replacement Ippin 1 bar til with tax topic 152 til 2/5/16 then bars and tax topic went away with general message, because I had to call to get a replacement Ippin was told it would be an automatic 21 days, no money owed to the IRS for federal taxes do owe state but that’s it. I guess I am just totally frustrated with the IRS, last year when I responded to sure I would like an IPPIN that it would end up causing this many problems, especially since I moved right after filing taxes
last year, so when they sent out this years Pins mine went to my old address, and even though I kept trying to enter my address correctly the system for some reason wouldn’t
recognize it causing me to have to call and get a replacement. Check this out though when I called to get it the rep said well you know it’s going to delay your refund to 21 days but I guess since you filed early enough it really doesn’t matter, which prompts me
to believe they (the IRS) already knew that there would be a lot of delays this year. We here’s to hoping that since the system is just now updating we all have bars and dates tomorrow, let’s hope whatever they are doing this year will make next year easier.

Called got the 21 day run around, only person that gave me any info was the lady from the ID verification, and that was I was not one of the ones who needed to verify ID. Got a letter stating we owed IRS from 2012, which I told accountant when he did taxes and he was suppose to make notation of that when we filed with IRS so they could deduct during the processing/ approval stage. But I think that was a lie, because one agent told me that they didn’t receive return until the 2/3 when I have an email stating the 2/1, so that just added 2 days onto my 21 days.

Spoke to a super nice lady confirmed my info etc. Last yr I had to mail my return because of tax fraud… Someone filed tax with my social…
Anyways she said that my tax refund is delayed an extra week tiil feb 23rd.. She said she couldnt figure out why but that if wheres my refund doesnt update in a week to call back. So idj but at least she confirmed that this delay has zero to do with tax fraud which is a huge relief!

Go to irs.gov and click on get transcripts then click get transcripts by mail… then enter your information and choose return transcript and 2015. If it says that they will be mailed to you, that is a good sign.

My husband called the IRS today to ask bc we got another notice TODAY… which was dated for TODAY (that’s really odd that we got it the date it was dated)… saying we owed the taxes from 2013 (a mistake from a 1099 form from that year)… so he called and the guy was nice and told him everything was fine and they were taking what we owed and then sending us the refund. He said it is still processing (but since I ordered the return trans last Friday, I think it’s done) and he said we should get our return soon. :)

Okay everyone, in another thread where we do not have bars or tax topic, we have discovered a common thread… well, one, we were able to order return transcripts and then the next day we lost bars and tt, but we realized that all of us in this boat owe the irs a small amount of our return. Do any of you owe the irs some of your refund? I would not stress if they haven’t given you a different code.

He has called several times gotten the 21 day runaround bs an told if there was no code then that it’s still processing, then once he had called told that it had errors an that it would be middle of March before he got a letter or something, an she was waking him tons of questions on his previous returns years ago, sounded like she was checking for his identity, then at the end of the convo the lady said it may be next week never know!

I lost my bar and tax topic about a week ago and I still can’t order transcripts with my new address. I’ve called the IRS and got the same 21 day run around.. Called a tax advocate and was told nothing but they couldn’t do anything until the 21 days were up. I called turbo tax and was told that as long as I dont get a letter or a email from the IRS then I’m good. The fact that they crashed for four to five days has put them another week behind. Maybe we are just the last batch for processing for DD of 02/10 and we are going to process over night tonight. Since there were sooooo many updates last night. I know ALOT of people on the post last night lost their bars right before WMR went down for updating and when it came up they had changed to a DDD! I highly doubt all of us are under review or will be delayed. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and more importantly prayers going up to see some movement tonight/early am Sunday!

It really is hard to say. Different things end up happening to different people. Many people find out they are in review when this happens. You could be for a day or much longer.

I had this happen a few years ago. However, I got a ddd a day or so later and all that happened was we owed back tax that was deducted from return. We noticed no delay in receiving the remaining balance of our refund.
