Had one bar until 2/5
Now I have no bars, no topic code, just the generic ‘your return is being processed, a refund date will be provided will available.’

Called the IRS today, spoke to a Ms. Young…at first she couldn’t even find my return and said they never received it…even though it did show up on Wheres My Refund Initially..after ‘checking one more system’ she found it…
She basically said she didn’t know why it was delayed other then the fact the irs is running behind supposedly. She said the IRS doesn’t really tell them much so she really didn’t know. She did say she didn’t find any further documents needed, verification, or anything just that it was running behind.

Not happy with that weak answer I called the 800 tax advocate number, and then my local Chicago tax advocate number. WOW! Could they of been any more useless? I told them I was past my 21 days and the IRS wasn’t being helpful at all and basically ‘didnt know’. I asked if they could look into it and provide some more information and was told No. I need to talk to the IRS and if the IRS can’t help they can’t either. Then they transferred me to the automated wheres my refund telephone system. Wow, way to be helpful tax advocates!
