I forgot to include the interest income form on my return, it was only $300 but I’m worried it will delay my return. Any thoughts on what will happen?

Thank you all for the information, I feel a little better now. My income was just under $50000 this year so I’m going to hope that I get my refund back and can amend later.

Don’t amend it if you’ve already submitted it… that’ll really trip you up. If its wrong, you may get your refund as expected anyway and then you can go back and amend later. If it is a big enough deal to stop your refund from being issued on time, amending now won’t help. That much I can say from experience.

I’m not sure might wanna ask a advocate but wouldn’t u have to do a amended return and get pushed back to like March. In my opinion I would find out and if u need refund bad u can always amended it later I believe but plz don’t take my statement as fact it’s just a hypothesis

Pretty sure it has to do with how much your total income was compared to the interest income. The IRS has automated info checker programs that basically look for ommissions that are big enough to get in a twist over. If your total income for the year was 5k you might have something to worry about but if if was more like 50k you’re probably ok.

I’m sure there’s someone else here in the forums who can give you a more precise answer but they aren’t awake yet ;)
